I have been thinking about what to write for the month of April since it isn’t really one of those …Heritage Month(s) and I realized that there is so much that I am curious about and hungry to learn about my own ancestors that I figured why not? So that’s what I am making April about, the Mexica people. The people most of you call Aztecs (don’t worry, we’ll get into that in a lot more detail) are the ancestors of so many of the people treated as others in the United States and, well, like the Michael Jordan meme says, I took that personally.

I am not an expert in this arena. I am simply curious about the history of my own ancestors. It won’t be every single day in April. But it will be at least every Friday. I like posting on Fridays.
